LS Eco Energy (CEO Lee Sang-ho) announced on the 16th that LS-VINA, the company's Vietnamese production corporation, has completed the supply of power cables to a large-scale solar power plant in the Philippines.

This 346 MW solar power plant project is being jointly promoted by major Philippine power generation companies in Zambales province, western Luzon Island. The order for this power generation project, which follows a previous wind power generation project, can be seen as an example of LS Eco Energy’s rapid expansion in the Southeast Asian renewable energy market.

Luzon Island is the center of electricity demand in the Philippines. It includes the capital city, Manila, and is a strategic base for energy infrastructure companies. An ‘energy export and import port zone’ has been formed centered on Subic Bay, and the island is attracting attention as a key hub for the future distribution of renewable energy resources and power grid connections.

This project is one of the core projects of the Philippine government’s Build Better More (BBM) energy transition policy. The Philippine government is promoting the advancement of the national power infrastructure with the goal of increasing the proportion of renewable energy generation to more than 50% by 2040.

“Supplying cables for this project was an opportunity to demonstrate that LS Eco Energy is establishing itself as a trusted partner in the Southeast Asian eco-friendly power market,” said Lee Sang-ho, CEO of LS Eco Energy. “With LS-VINA as our base, we will lead the construction of renewable infrastructure throughout Southeast Asia.”

To respond to global supply chain risks, such as China’s rare earth export controls, LS Eco Energy is working with the Vietnamese government to establish a stable local procurement system. In addition, the company is ramping up the global expansion of its eco-friendly portfolio, including submarine cables and renewable power grid solutions.
